Hanover Safe Place’s Shine a Light on Hope campaign is an annual awareness and fundraising initiative dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence. This campaign reminds our community that even in the face of fear, hope has the power to shine brighter. Through storytelling, education, and opportunities to give, Shine a Light on Hope brings neighbors, businesses, and advocates together to illuminate the path toward safety, healing, and independence for survivors and their families.
Every dollar raised strengthens vital services—emergency shelter, rapid rehousing, counseling, legal advocacy, youth prevention, and outreach—that empower survivors to rebuild their lives free from violence. By shining a light on hope, we shine a light on the resilience of survivors and the collective responsibility we all share in creating a safer, more compassionate community.
The hope of this campaign aims to achieve several critical goals:
1. Provide Safe Shelter: Hanover Safe Place provides a safe haven for victims of domestic violence every day, in a confidential location.
2. Comprehensive Outreach: Hanover Safe Place continues to engage community outreach programs to educate more individuals about domestic violence prevention and the resources available to victims.
3. Counseling Services: Your support will help us strengthen our counseling services, enabling victims to rebuild their lives with the necessary emotional support.
4. Supportive Family Services: The Family Services Advocate provides support to families in shelter and the community, including safety planning for parent and child, education on how trauma affects children and healthy parenting methods.
